I was going to share a photo of my Mom’s after we scrapped it in 01 but apparently you can’t save embedded images from gmail. Ah well. I’ve had a soft spot for these ever since though.

Forgive me, but why?

Rear wheel drive, great power to weight, incredible shape for the age, manual, 3-box, reliable, well-maintained, single owner, super cheap for the miles...

Why not?

A shame you had to scrap yours. Was it just rusty? I’m amazed that this one isn’t.

I’ll give you the other points, but I have to disagree on the “power to weight”. Per Wikipedia, if it has the stronger engine, its still at 21lb/hp, which is roughly what my land cruiser has. If it had the 115hp engine that japan got, it might not be too bad though.

Looks like it would be a poster child for “slow car fast”

It has about the same specs as my ‘87 CRX, and that thing is a blast to drive, even with FWD. I can’t see this thing being worse as a pusher.

If you have the earlier 1.5l, it looks like it will have the same power-to-weight, and will likely be a bit more fun (have to imagine a bigger tuner scene for the CRX though), but if you have the later 1.5L or the 1.6, your CRX will be noticeably quicker.

That’s also assuming the ad has the 90hp engine, if it has the 75hp, all bets are off.

Just the fuel injected D15. 91 hp. Also, there’s no tuner scene for first Gen CRXs. I think there was at some point, but nobody messes with them today. You can’t really reflash the ECU, and there are no forced induction kits, though, I think Jackson Racing made one at one point. It’s all impossible to find, though.

No, if I got this, I’d probably try to swap in a Black Top or something. But I’m not getting this, because I’m 6 months away from debt freedom, and then I have to start saving for a down payment on a house.

Still, for $1700, it is very tempting.
